# `comment`

Allows you to leave un-rendered code inside a Liquid template. Any text within the opening and closing `comment` blocks will not be printed, and any Liquid code within will not be executed.

**Example:**

```liquid
Hello
{% comment %}
  content
{% endcomment %}
There
```

## Inline comments

`{% # %}` comments out a single tag. It renders nothing, and it accepts whitespace control. A comment can span several lines when each line starts with `#`.

```liquid
{% # theme-check-disable %}
{%- # trims the whitespace around it -%}
{%
  # first line
  # second line
%}
```

Inside a [`liquid`](/themes/tags/liquid) tag, a line that starts with `#` is a comment.
