# `echo`

Outputs an expression in the rendered HTML. This is identical to wrapping an expression in curly brackets (`{{` and `}}`); it accepts filters, and it can be used inside [`liquid`](./liquid.md) tags as well.

**Example:**

```liquid
{% assign title = "YouCan" %}
{% echo title %}

{% liquid
  echo title | upcase
%}
```
